MEET BROOKE
Owner and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
As a registered dietitian with over seven years of experience in diverse settings—from hospitals and long-term care to outpatient medically supervised weight loss and even as an adjunct professor at a local university—I’ve had the privilege of helping people at every stage of their health journey.
But it’s through my own personal experience that I discovered my true passion: women’s health and functional/integrative nutrition. After being diagnosed with Stage 4 endometriosis in 2020, following over a decade of unanswered questions, I turned to food as medicine. Through intentional dietary and lifestyle changes, I successfully manage my chronic inflammatory condition, and I’m committed to helping others do the same.
My approach to nutrition goes beyond quick fixes. I believe in getting to the root cause of your health concerns. Here at Sunshine State Nutrition and Wellness, we don’t guess—we test. I use a comprehensive, 360-degree approach that includes traditional and functional lab testing, medication and supplement reviews, nutrition analysis, and lifestyle assessments. Together, we’ll work to understand your unique needs and create a personalized plan that works for you.
When you work with me, you can leave behind the fear of judgment, restrictive diets, and guilt. Fad diets? We don't know her. Food is both fuel and fun, and I believe joy is a nutrient. Just like your favorite pair of jeans, a healthy diet isn’t "one size fits all."
I’ll guide you toward a way of eating that makes you feel your best—physically and mentally. As my client, you can expect to be educated, empowered, and equipped with actionable steps to reach your long-term health goals. I’ll be your co-pilot on this journey to your best self—inside and out.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS A DIETITIAN-NUTRITIONIST?
Not all providers are created equal, thus it's important to know the difference.
Registered Dietitian (RDN)
A registered dietitian nutritionist is a food and nutrition expert who has completed extensive education and training, including a bachelor's degree in dietetics, supervised practice, and passing a national examination. Dietitians are equipped to provide medical nutrition therapy, which means they can assess, diagnose, and treat dietary issues related to various health conditions. They work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, and private practices, and are legally recognized to provide nutrition care.
Nutritionist
The term "nutritionist" can vary widely in its use and does not always indicate a formal education or certification. While some nutritionists have training in nutrition science, others may have little or no formal education. Unlike dietitians, nutritionists may not have the same level of expertise in medical nutrition therapy or the ability to work with patients with specific health conditions.
In summary, while all registered dietitians are nutritionists, not all nutritionists are registered dietitians. If you're seeking personalized nutrition advice, particularly related to health concerns, a registered dietitian is your best choice for safe and evidence-based guidance.

WILL MY HEALTH INSURANCE COVER DIETITIAN-NUTRITIONIST SERVICES?
Many commercial insurance plans have preventative benefits that cover medical nutrition therapy for as low as $0 out of pocket. Coverage can vary significantly by provider and plan, so it’s essential to check your individual benefits.
